In Pulaski are our specialists for imaging, digital printing and release papers. In addition to sales and distribution for North America, the more than 100 employees take care of converting and packaging for the domestic market.
Responsibilities:- Lead the development and enforcement of facility‑wide EHS programs aligned with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, NYSDEC, EPA, and SPDES.
- Serve as the primary contact for all regulatory inspections, inquiries, and correspondence, including OSHA, EPA, NYSDEC, and local authorities.
- Manage and submit all required reporting and documentation, including:
- Air Permit compliance, VOC emissions reporting, RTO monitoring, coating content tracking, stack testing, capture efficiency, and deviation reporting.
- SPDES permit management, including temperature, turbidity, and composite sampling protocols, sludge monitoring, and usage‑based billing dispute preparation.
- Hazardous waste operations, including generator status maintenance, inspection logs, contingency planning, chemical bulk storage certificate, and annual reporting.
- Tier II chemical inventory, annual updates, and coordination with emergency responders.
- Monitor and lead the organization’s response to OSHA matters, including maintaining the OSHA 300 log, coordinating responses to violations and complaints, and managing post‑incident corrective actions.
- Oversee the EHS training and ensure training for all employees.
- Guide operational teams through risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and improve workplace controls.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to manage workers’ compensation claims, return‑to‑work programs, and injury case management.
- Participate in capital projects, process changes, and new chemical introductions to assess EHS implications and regulatory impacts.
- Lead the annual EHS budgeting process, vendor management, and resource planning for compliance and safety investments, while prioritizing cost efficiency.
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develop, implement and maintain inspection policies and procedures; including a schedule of routine inspections.
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety and security policies and procedures.
- Coordinates the safety and security programs to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
- Develop, update and evaluates effectiveness of environmental, health and safety procedures for all areas of the facility.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures (i.e. NYS DEC, OSHA, ISO etc.)
- Ensures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Submits recommendations for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
- Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
