Under the direction of a Nursing Clinical Coordinator or Department Director, you will:

• Demonstrate accountability for essential clinical knowledge to positively affect patient outcomes within the scope of nursing practice while assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating care.
• Demonstrate strong and accurate clinical judgment and competent or expert nursing skills while following established policies including those related to confidentiality (written, verbal, electronic and digital).
• Document effectively, succinctly, and timely according to organizational policy.
• Incorporate time management and prioritize for efficiency and productivity.
• Follow LGHP process for dispensing of medications and narcotic control and employ clinical judgment related to medication administration.
• Delegate only those tasks for which you believe the other health team member has the knowledge and skill to perform, taking into consideration training, cultural competence, experience, and facility/agency policies and procedures.
• Professionally resolve or seek assistance for clinical problems and conflict.
• Complete annual educational requirements and other specified learning activities on time.
• Promote a culture of safety.
• Advocate for the patient and adhere to quality standards such as National Patient Safety standards and infection prevention.
• Appropriately teach patients and families beginning with admission and continuing throughout hospitalization until the last interaction where instructions for home and/or the next provider are accurately provided.
• Advance the role of the professional nurse through learning.
• Contribute to the healthcare environment with Systems’ Thinking.
• Adhere to hospital and unit policies.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
