Job Summary and QualificationsUnder the direction of a Nursing Clinical Coordinator or Department Director:
- You will demonstrate accountability for essential clinical knowledge to positively affect patient outcomes within the scope of nursing practice while assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating care.
- You will demonstrate strong and accurate clinical judgment and competent or expert nursing skills while following established policies including those related to confidentiality (written, verbal, electronic and digital).
- You will document effectively, succinctly, and timely according to organizational policy.
- You will incorporate time management and prioritize for efficiency and productivity.
- You will follow LGHP process for dispensing of medications and narcotic control and employ clinical judgment related to medication administration.
- You will delegate only those tasks for which you believe the other health team member has the knowledge and skill to perform, taking into consideration training, cultural competence, experience, and facility/agency policies and procedures.
- You will professional resolve or seek assistance for clinical problems and conflict.
- You will complete annual educational requirements and other specified learning activities on time.
- You will promote a culture of safety.
- You will advocate for the patient and adhere to quality standards such as National Patient Safety standards and infection prevention.
- You will appropriately teach patients and families beginning with admission and continuing throughout hospitalization until the last interaction where instructions for home and/or the next provider are accurately provided.
- You will advance the role of the professional nurse through learning.
- You will contribute to the healthcare environment with Systems’ Thinking.
- Adheres to hospital and unit policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
- Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
