* The Opportunity:
** As an
** Early Childhood Program Specialist 2 (ECPS2)**, you will assist in implementing the educational curriculum and supporting the general operation of an infant, toddler, preschool, or school-age classroom. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment; assisting with child assessments; planning, implementing, and evaluating activities; directing student staff and volunteers; keeping records; and ensuring the classroom meets child care licensing and accreditation standards.
You will also help evaluate student staff, model appropriate nurturing and communication skills with children, and actively participate as a positive team member with all center staff. In the absence of the Early Childhood Program Specialist 3, you may temporarily assume leadership of the classroom.

** Required Qualifications
*** One year of experience in an early childhood program and thirty quarter credit hours in early childhood development/education/special education; OR equivalent education/experience.
* Must meet the required criteria of having 12 aligned college credits in Early Childhood Education (ECE) Core Competencies or a CDA (Child Development Associate) within 5 years of hire. See the following links or more information

Preservice requirements
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Associates degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Development OR Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
* Two (2) years experience with children in a group child care setting.
* Proven leadership skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices interacting with young children.
* Demonstrates excellent communication skills with parents, children and colleagues.
* Experience which demonstrates flexibility in dealing with frequent changes and/or crises.
