** As a Power Engineer, a typical day might include the following:
*** Further develop and maintain a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor, and control the power system.
* Assist in developing product specifications, develop and analyze functional tests.
* Assist with application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets.
* Provide power engineering support for customer applications and Field Application Engineers.
* Assist in writing and reviewing innovative power system protection solutions to present at technical meetings and conferences.
** This job might be for you if:
*** You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
* You have typically 2+ years experience in electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies
* You have excellent technical training skills
* You have working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility, industrial plant
* You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
* You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
* You have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Working knowledge of SEL products
* Experience in power system modeling using EMTP

** Pay Range Data
** We anticipate filling this position as a Power Engineer $97,740 - $144,460. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
