Power Engineer

As a Power Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

• Further develop and maintain a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor, and control the power system.
• Assist in developing product specifications, develop and analyze functional tests.
• Assist with application literature, instruction manuals, and data sheets.
• Provide power engineering support for customer applications and Field Application Engineers.
• Assist in writing and reviewing innovative power system protection solutions to present at technical meetings and conferences.

• You have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• You have typically 2+ years experience in electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies
• You have excellent technical training skills
• You have working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility, industrial plant
• You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
• You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
• You have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

• Working knowledge of SEL products
• Experience in power system modeling using EMTP

We anticipate filling this position as a Power Engineer $85,000 - $110,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
