Associate Project Engineer - Security

SEL Infrastructure Defense seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Security position in Pullman, WA. This position will focus on assessment, design, and implementation of security and communications for the power grid systems.

* Preferred Qualifications:

*** College coursework in electric power and/or controls (power system protection, symmetrical components, programming, control systems)
* Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
* Work experience in electric utilities, industrial plants, communications, computer programming, or construction
*** Focus Area = Security
**** Security = industrial control system security experience, including technical controls, security assessments, policies, plans and procedures. CISSP and/or GSEC or equivalent certifications required. Working knowledge of NERC/CIP compliance and/or NIST SP800 security requirements. Ability to obtain security clearance.

** We anticipate filling this position as an Associate Project Engineer - $60,000 - $95,000

We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.

* Assist teams that support customers with the design, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.

* B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
* Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutions
* Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.
* Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
* Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
* Background check results satisfactory to SEL
