We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician III to join our team in Pullman, WA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, calibration, and installation of a wide range of biomedical equipment used in clinical and research settings. This role requires advanced technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with healthcare professionals and engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and calibration of biomedical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Install, configure, and validate new biomedical devices and systems in clinical and research environments.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and calibrations performed using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Collaborate with clinical staff, engineers, and vendors to resolve complex technical issues and support equipment lifecycle management.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies related to biomedical equipment.
- Participate in equipment evaluations, procurement processes, and technology assessments.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and provide on-call support as required.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a hospital or clinical environment.
- Certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical device standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and CMMS software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to lift and maneuver biomedical equipment and work in various clinical settings.
- Must pass background and drug screen.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
