Base pay range

$98,000.00/yr - $/yr

METER Group is seeking a Geotechnical and Civil Engineering Market Development Manager to initiate and grow our presence in the global Geotechnical, Civil, and Environmental Engineering markets. The market development manager will work closely with the research & development, marketing, and sales teams to shape all go-to-market initiatives, including market research, marketing campaigns, web content, and help develop assets to ensure we have a marketing and sales strategy and appropriate messaging to connect with customers.

This role ensures that market-driven pricing aligns with overall company strategy. The market development manager will represent client requirements to the product management and research & development teams to ensure that those requirements are considered when scoping new product roadmaps. They will find, work with, and build relationships with select beta customers to begin developing information and promotional material for potential new markets and new applications within current markets.

This position will also support the sales team in technical conversations during the consultative sales process and will help support existing clients. The tactical nature of this position supports the drive for market share, volume, and profit targets.

This role works from our Pullman, WA office.

Wage range: $98,000 - $140,000 per year. Offers will be made inside this range depending on the experience and abilities of the candidate. In addition to the salary, METER offers stellar benefits, which are listed near the bottom of this posting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market research
• Evaluate total addressable market in target niche areas
• Run market tests to validate ideas on market potential
• Build customer profiles and personas
• Formulate plan for next steps to grow market impact and increase market share
• Grow existing large customer product usage
• Add more high-value customers
• Propose possible complementary technology (both hardware and software) to grow market share

• Support Marketing and Sales
• Go-to-market strategic plans and playbooks
• Product and market opportunity training
• Virtual seminars
• Web page content
• Social media content
• Customer visit support
• Technical conversations with clients during the consultative sales process
• Support of new client acquisition
• Organize and lead efforts to assess the need for, produce and get approval for technical documentation such as ASTM standards, technical white papers, or calibration method documentation
• Organize efforts toward production of peer-reviewed or company-produced data comparison papers as sources of proof for our customers

• Application support in engineering-related applications
• Partner with customer support team to provide high-level expertise to clients
• Run point on ASTM Standards related to METER products
• Act as internal Subject Matter Expert for engineering-related projects and applications

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering or Bachelor’s degree + equivalent experience
• Unsaturated soil mechanics coursework or experience
• Familiarity with ASTM standards related to geotechnical/civil/environmental engineering instrumentation and testing

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience post-graduation in a related field
• Experience in sales and marketing
• Experience with ASTM standards development/committee service

Work environment

Typical office environment with computer workstation. Some travel to client sites required.
