Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Data Engineer who is passionate about solving problems and improving lives through data. SEL develops mission‑critical products that protect, control, monitor, and analyze the power grid—ensuring the reliability and safety of essential infrastructure worldwide.
As a Data Engineer at SEL, you will play a key role in supporting the Manufacturing division. In collaboration with internal teams, you’ll develop robust data pipelines and reporting solutions that power expanding manufacturing operations across North America. By leveraging high‑volume machine‑generated process data, you’ll help inform, empower, and drive data‑driven insights that enhance product quality, streamline production processes, and protect critical infrastructure.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Design normalized, relational data models and/or dimensional models for OLTP and OLAP systems.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing stakeholders to build enterprise reporting models that support operational excellence and product reliability.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using cloud technologies to ensure accurate, consistent, and secure data flow from diverse sources.
- Administer and optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Build solutions using technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Stream Analytics, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI Premium.
- Your data solutions will help identify and eliminate defects

The range for this role is $97,500 – $118,900 annually. We base our starting pay offer on location and job‑related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
