education program and 5,800alumni from low-income backgrounds. Our 27 English-medium schools run
in partnership with municipal corporations in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur. We provide students from
underserved communities a high-quality, holistic education at no cost. Our aim is to give students the
knowledge, skills, and values they need to lead empowered lives, maximize their potential and break out
of the cycle of poverty.
With a vision to scale our impact we codified our practices and, in 2022, joined forces with Nagpur
Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to take these practices to nearly 200
public schools under 'Project Setu'.
About the Role
As a School Coach at Akanksha , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that School Leaders are supported in building high-performing, innovative schools. You will provide the guidance, coaching, and tools they need to meet their goals and drive excellent outcomes for every child.
You will partner with leaders to improve school performance, build capacity of school leadership, and co-design and implement network-wide priorities aligned with Akanksha’s vision of educational equity and excellence.
Specific responsibilities will include:
1. Drive School Performance and Strategic Goals Coach School Leaders to design, implement, and achieve school goals—including academic outcomes, student well-being, and parent partnership—aligned with network priorities.
Monitor progress on key indicators at school and city levels, supporting leaders in developing strategies for continuous improvement.
Conduct school visits to evaluate culture, instructional quality, parent engagement initiatives, and student learning; provide targeted coaching and feedback to leadership teams.
Collaborate with instructional specialists and network teams to assess impact, refine strategies, and ensure alignment across schools.
Design and facilitate professional development sessions for School Leadership and teachers to strengthen capacity and practice.
2. Build Leadership Capacity Strengthen School Leaders’ capabilities across Instruction, Culture, Operations, and People Leadership.
Connect leaders to learning opportunities and model effective leadership and coaching practices.
Provide ongoing feedback and support to build sustainable leadership capacity.
3. Implement Network-wide Priorities Support the design of key initiatives of the network and implementation .
Use school-level insights to inform network strategy and strengthen cross-school collaboration and learning.
4. Foster Collaboration and Continuous Learning Build communities of practice for peer learning among School Leaders and educators.
Share data-driven insights, document best practices, and highlight successes and challenges to promote collective growth.
Support with designing, and driving Akanksha’s coaching and leadership development model.
Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s/Postgraduate Degree in Education, Development, or a related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in education, including school leadership, instructional coaching, leadership development and teacher development.
Proven track record of improving teaching and learning outcomes and developing adult learners.
Skills and Mindset Deep belief in the potential of every child ; committed to equity and inclusion.
Strong understanding of instructional leadership, pedagogy, and curriculum design.
Excellent coaching, facilitation, and interpersonal skills .
Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and strong execution ability.

Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in dynamic environments.
