About the University / Company
MIT College of Management (MITCOM) is seeking a highly competent and research-focused Assistant Professor for the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) / Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program. The candidate will be responsible for teaching core Computer Applications and specialized subjects, contributing to the development of the IT curriculum, and mentoring students to meet the demands of the modern software and IT industry, in strict accordance with the latest AICTE norms.
About the Role
The Assistant Professor will engage in academic duties, research, and institutional development activities while ensuring adherence to AICTE guidelines.
Responsibilities
Academic & Teaching Duties
- Conduct lectures, practical lab sessions, and tutorials for BCA / MCA students in both core and specialized subjects, such as Data Science, Cloud Computing, Database Management Systems (DBMS), Software Engineering, Data Structures, Algorithms, Computer Networks, and Programming Languages (e.g., Python, Java).
- Develop and update course syllabi, laboratory manuals, and teaching methodologies in line with AICTE guidelines and industry requirements.
- Set and evaluate question papers, assignments, and practical examinations, ensuring fair and rigorous assessment.
- Mentor and guide students on their academic progress, project work, and industry internships.
Research and Innovation
- Engage in high-quality research, resulting in publications in SCI/UGC-CARE/AICTE approved refereed journals.
- Guide MCA student dissertations and final year projects.
- Seek and execute research and consultancy projects with industry partners.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences.
Institutional & Professional Development
- Actively participate in administrative and institutional development activities, including admissions, examinations, curriculum review, and NBA/NAAC accreditation processes.
- Liaise with the IT industry to arrange guest lectures, expert talks, and industrial training for students.
- Mandatory requirement to undergo AICTE-prescribed Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), including MOOCs in SWAYAM, preferably within the first year of service.
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for the direct recruitment of an Assistant Professor for the BCA / MCA program must strictly adhere to the latest AICTE norms:
Essential Qualifications
- A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science (with a focus on AI/ML/Data), or a closely related field from a recognized institution
- M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. / MCA or Integrated M.Tech. in a relevant branch.
- B.E. /
B.Tech. / B.S. / BCA in a relevant branch (e.g., CSE, IT, ECE)
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of Teaching experience (BCA / MCA courses) after Master's degree
Note:
First Class or equivalent is mandatory in at least one of the qualifying degrees (Bachelor's or Master's). If a class/division is not awarded, a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be considered equivalent to First Class.
Highly Desirable Criteria
- NET/SET qualification in Computer Science or IT (as per UGC norms) is advantageous.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern Dev Ops practices.
- Hands-on proficiency in current technologies such as Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Big Data Tools (Hadoop/Spark), or specialized Data Science Libraries (Tensor Flow/PyTorch).
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and programming skills.
- Effective communication and pedagogical skills for teaching complex technical subjects.
Pay range and compensation package
