We are expanding our on-ground presence and academic operations at Toprankers Pune Centre , and are looking for dynamic and student-centric Academic Counsellors who can guide aspirants and parents through one of the most crucial phases of their academic journey.
Role Overview
As an Academic Counsellor , you will be the first point of contact for students and parents , understanding their aspirations, academic needs, and career goals.
Your role is to help them identify the right course, guide them through Toprankers' offerings, and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
This is an in-centre, high-interaction role involving counselling, relationship management, and academic orientation.
Key Responsibilities
Student & Parent Counselling
Counsel students and parents about various Toprankers programs – especially CLAT, IPMAT, and CAT – aligning the offerings with their career goals.
Conduct one-on-one or group counselling sessions to explain program structures, timelines, pedagogy, and outcomes.
Identify student needs and recommend the most suitable programs based on aptitude, interest, and academic background.
Lead Conversion & Sales
Convert walk-ins, leads, and inquiries into admissions through consultative counselling.
Follow up systematically with leads generated through calls, online campaigns, seminars, and referrals.
Meet and exceed weekly and monthly enrolment targets.
Collaborate with the marketing and academic teams to ensure strong lead-to-admission conversion.
Academic Orientation & Support
Coordinate with academic teams to ensure smooth onboarding and orientation of new students.
Act as a bridge between students, parents, and faculty for addressing academic and administrative queries.
Support academic events, workshops, and parent interaction sessions at the centre.
Centre Operations & Coordination
Maintain detailed records of counselling sessions, leads, and enrolments in CRM systems.
Prepare regular reports on admissions, student feedback, and centre performance metrics.
Ensure that all marketing and branding material at the centre is up to date and aligned with corporate communication.
Desired Profile
Education
Graduate or Postgraduate in any discipline.
Background in Psychology, Education, or Business Administration will be an advantage.
Experience
2-5 years of experience in academic counselling, student advisory, or inside sales—preferably in the test-prep or EdTech sector .
Prior experience counselling aspirants for CLAT, IPMAT, or CAT will be highly preferred .
Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English & Hindi proficiency).
Deep understanding of student mindset and exam preparation dynamics.
Empathetic listener with a consultative approach to counselling.
Target-driven and comfortable working in a high-performance environment.
Ability to multitask and coordinate between departments efficiently.
