About Nayanta University
Nayanta University in Pune, Maharashtra, is an exciting initiative launched by a group of prominent Indian industrialists associated with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). The university has a focus on interdisciplinary learning, offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in unique domains and subjects. The aim is to offer an education that not only sets up students for success in the real world but also equips them with a range of necessary abilities and qualities.
A Nayanta student will not only be trained in technical skills and interdisciplinary knowledge, but also have the ability to think critically, act empathetically and address issues from multiple perspectives. Nayanta University is committed to building a diverse student body, with students from all parts of the country and all walks of life. It aims to nurture the talents and abilities of these students and empower them to build impactful lives.
Why Join Us
The Communications and Writing (C&W) programme at Nayanta University has been designed to take this vision forward and be a key differentiator for the University. This is a long-term engagement for students; the C&W courses run across multiple terms, and the Communications Studio offers support through their undergraduate degree.
The Communications Studio sits alongside the C&W programme to help students develop and sharpen key reading, writing and communication skills. It is conceived of as a creative and collaborative hub — a stress-free space where students at every stage can experiment with writing as a process, sharpen their critical thinking, and build transferable literacy skills across multiple genres and modes of communication.
A key part of the Studio's work involves working regularly with ESL/ELL learners on the basics of grammar and composition to ensure that every student who arrives at Nayanta is given committed institutional support to help them adapt to the demands of undergraduate coursework, while also equipping them with skills for life outside the classroom. It envisions such remedial work as an exercise in empowerment;
difficulties with language are treated as data for targeted tutoring, not deficiencies. While the Studio emphasises remedial work, it also serves a wider function, supplementing coursework by going deeper on skills that classroom hours may not fully accommodate (such as micro-skills of source evaluation, transitions and cohesion, revision strategies, etc.). Beyond the curriculum, the Studio actively cultivates a wider culture of reading, writing, and critical literacy across the university by supporting student-led initiatives such as book clubs.
As a Tutor at the Communications Studio, you will mentor, guide, and work closely with students on diverse aspects of writing and communication in an environment that prizes process over product, curiosity over compliance, and authentic engagement over mechanical proficiency. You will also have the opportunity to help shape the Studio as a critical institution within Nayanta University.
