Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) Officer based in Pune. The IEC Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing innovative IEC strategies to promote health and safety awareness. Key tasks include developing communication materials, conducting awareness programs, managing stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with public health communication standards. The role demands consistent collaboration with cross-functional teams and field visits to execute community outreach strategies effectively.

Job Description:
IEC officer will help raise awareness, educate, and communicate information related to emergency medical services being provided by us under 108 MEMS. The role focuses on outreach and education to rural populations, supporting timely and effective use of ambulance services staffed by onboard doctors or EMT's.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct community outreach programs to educate rural populations on how and when to use emergency medical services.
Develop and disseminate IEC materials (leaflets, posters, audio-visual content) adapted for rural audiences.
Organize and lead awareness sessions in different cities, towns, villages and community centres about emergency health responses and ambulance services.
Liaise with local leaders, government officials and health workers to promote service utilization and correct health practices.
Collect feedback from communities to help refine communication strategies and improve program impact.
Support public health campaigns initiated by the state government related to emergency medical care.
Maintain records of outreach activities, attendance, and impact assessments.
Assist ambulance teams by educating patients and relatives during service calls as appropriate.
Report regularly to the IEC division head on progress and challenges faced in the field.
Required Skills and Attributes:
Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex health information in simple local dialect of Marathi and/or Hindi.
Good interpersonal skills to connect with diverse rural communities.
Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas.
Basic computer literacy with ability to read and write clearly in English and Marathi.
Commitment to public health and emergency medical services.
Physical fitness suited to field work across rural terrain.
