We are looking for a Senior Akamai CDN Engineer to join a high-impact technology team supporting large-scale, business-critical digital platforms. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of performance, security, and edge computing, and who bring hands-on experience managing enterprise-grade Akamai environments.
You will be responsible for designing, configuring, optimizing, and securing Akamai CDN solutions across multiple environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance for web and application delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Akamai Configuration & Edge Management
• Design, create, and manage Akamai Property Manager configurations across Dev, UAT, and Production
• Implement and maintain caching strategies, edge redirects, CP codes, Site Shield, and WAF policies
• Configure and manage Akamai Net Storage for asset hosting, versioning, and cache in validations
• Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot Edge Workers and EdgeKV logic for personalization and edge-side processing
• Maintain configuration versioning and documentation using Git Hub or similar repositories
Performance Optimization & Monitoring
• Collaborate with frontend and Dev Ops teams to optimize cache rules, TTLs, compression, and delivery performance
• Monitor CDN performance and availability using Akamai Control Center, New Relic, and related tools
• Conduct audits to clean up obsolete properties, CP codes, and unused configurations
Security, Compliance & Releases
• Manage Site Shield configurations, IP whitelisting, and TLS/SSL certificate renewals
• Work with Security teams to implement and fine-tune Akamai WAF and bot management
• Coordinate Akamai changes with release cycles, content purges, rollback plans, and blue-green or canary deployments
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
• Strong hands-on experience with Akamai Property Manager, Net Storage, Edge Workers, and EdgeKV
• Solid understanding of CDN fundamentals such as caching, invalidation, surrogate keys, and edge logic
• Experience with Akamai APIs, automation, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, etc.)
• Working knowledge of DNS, HTTP headers, and SSL/TLS
Preferred
• Exposure to Adaptive Media Delivery or Download Delivery
• Experience with Akamai WAF, Kona Site Defender, or Bot Manager
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like New Relic, Splunk, or Akamai mPulse
Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Clear communication and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate across Frontend, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams
• Ownership mindset with attention to change control and risk management
Education:
B.E /
B.Tech in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
