About the team

Dev Ops team is at the core of Helpshift engineering. We have a centralised Dev Ops team in Helpshift and that essentially means we have our technical depth both horizontally and vertically. We’re responsible for creating, maintaining, scaling and securing infrastructure used by many teams for critical workloads.

Dev Ops team work in following areas:

- Production & Development Infrastructure Provisioning and Maintenance
- Database Infrastructure
- Automations
- Core Infrastructure (Scalability, Performance & Optimisation)
- Security & Compliance
- Engineering Processes

You’ll be in a team that maintains, builds and scale infrastructure that will host the production workload as well as support internal engineering teams. You’ll make decisions with a significant impact on Helpshift.

Job Summary:

Helpshift is looking for a Dev Sec Ops  Specialist within the Dev Ops team. The individual is expected to bring in experience of Operations and Security using Dev Ops, and would also support the Infosec function of the organisation in maintaining the infosec posture of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities and activities:

- Design, implement and monitor enterprise-grade secure fault-tolerant infrastructure.
- Work with cross-functional teams in design, development and implementation of enterprise scalable features to support platform and infrastructure security requirements, including environment monitoring and incident remediation.
- Working closely with Info Sec teams to ensure organizational best practices are followed.
- Assist the team in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
- Integrate newly developed and existing applications into private, public and hybrid cloud environments
- Automate deployment pipelines in a scalable, secure and reliable manner
- Implement and integrate security in our CI/CD pipelines using tools like sonarqube
- Improvise the security posture of our cloud infrastructure and enable engineering teams to improvise on application security
- Drive the security initiatives across the engineering teams at Helpshift
- Have a culture of automation where any repetitive work is automated
- Help grow the team by mentoring and interviewing other talented engineers that want to join us.

Skills required

- 6+ years experience in a similar role - Cloud Engineer, IT Administrator, Systems Engineer, Dev Ops

- Experience with automation/configuration management tool (Jenkins using Groovy scripting, Terraform, Ansible or an equivalent)
- Experience in Kubernetes (EKS, KUBECTL, HELM).
- Hands on in source code management tools like Git, Bitbucket, SVN etc
- Should have working experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Elasticsearch, SPLUNK, or any other monitoring tools/processes.
- Understanding of self-healing/immutable microservice based architectures, cloud platforms, clustering models, networking technologies.
- Good knowledge of AWS cloud and securing AWS infrastructure
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Self starter and be able to work well in a fast paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision
