Engineering Manager

We are a fast-growing AI domain registrar and website builder focused on automation, scalability, and user experience. Our development team is based in Pune and includes front-end and back-end engineers. We're looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager/Architect to lead the technical direction of our product and champion the use of AI across the development lifecycle.

Job Overview:

As our Engineering Manager/Architect, you will work closely with the Product Owner to determine how we build what we build. You will guide the architectural direction, evaluate and select technologies, mentor developers, and ensure our codebase is scalable, maintainable, and reliable. A core part of your role will be driving AI adoption within the engineering team to improve development speed, product quality, and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

- Define and evolve the technical architecture for front-end and back-end systems.
- Guide key platform choices: frameworks, infrastructure, data architecture, and deployment.
- Lead and enforce code quality practices, including CI/CD, peer reviews, and definitions of done.
- Conduct and oversee code reviews to maintain best practices.
- Mentor new developers and onboard them efficiently.
- Set and maintain coding standards, branching strategies, and deployment pipelines.
- Drive the use of AI tools in development workflows (e.g., Copilot, test automation, PR summarization).
- Collaborate with the Product Owner on translating requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead response efforts for platform outages and postmortem improvements.
- Continuously reduce technical debt and ensure long-term maintainability.

What We’re Looking For:

- 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or architect role.
- Strong experience with our stack:
FastAPI, React, Next.js, MySQL, Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor developers and review code.
- Experience introducing AI into engineering or product workflows is a major plus.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Highly collaborative, organized, and proactive.
