Role:
Senior SAP BTP Solution Architect
We are looking for an experienced SAP BTP Solution Architect to design and drive our corporate strategy for SAP cloud development. This role requires deep expertise in the SAP BTP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model, low-code platforms (SAP Build Apps), and related BTP services. The candidate will play a pivotal role in positioning SAP’s cloud development tools within a multi-platform enterprise landscape and defining best practices for cloud-native application and microservices development.
This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role requiring broad architectural vision and deep technical insight.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate SAP Cloud development strategy
Define and implement a comprehensive SAP BTP cloud development strategy that balances CAP-based cloud applications/microservices with SAP Build Apps low-code development.
Establish architectural blueprints, governance frameworks, and best practices for SAP cloud development.
Platform Positioning
Compare and position SAP BTP CAP model vs. AWS frameworks for full-stack development and services for microservice development, Appian, Mendix, and Microsoft Power Apps, identifying the best use cases for SAP’s domain.
Position SAP Build Apps against low-code competitors (Appian, Mendix, Power Apps), integrating them into the broader corporate development strategy.
Define scenarios where SAP microservices offer unique advantages in enterprise cloud architecture.
Evaluate the feasibility to incorporate BTP ABAP Cloud into the corporate SAP cloud development strategy, aligning with CAP and low-code approaches.
Cloud Databases & Multi-Cloud Strategy
Provide architectural guidance on BTP HANA Cloud DB and BTP Postgre
SQL DB.
Evaluate and position AWS databases (Aurora, RDS) against BTP database services, and more broadly compare AWS cloud-native development with SAP BTP development tools.
Security & Governance
Collaborate with the corporate information security team to assess security implications of SAP BTP cloud development adoption.
Develop risk assessments and mitigation strategies for BTP cloud solutions.
Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory security standards.
Integration of SAP Cloud Ecosystem
Position SAP Business Process Automation (BPA) as part of the overall SAP cloud development landscape.
Thought Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Act as a trusted advisor to IT and business leadership on SAP BTP development strategy.
Document and communicate reference architectures, strategic roadmaps, and best practices for SAP BTP development.
Evangelize SAP cloud development internally to drive adoption.

Required Qualifications
Extensive experience in SAP BTP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model and cloud-native application architecture.
Proven expertise with SAP HANA Cloud DB, BTP Postgre
SQL DB, Node.js, BTP Business Application Studio, and associated Dev Ops practices.
Strong knowledge of low-code development with SAP Build Apps, including positioning this tool against Appian, Mendix, and Microsoft Power Apps.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including Aurora and RDS
Deep expertise in SAP BTP security
Experience with BTP ABAP Cloud environment and SAP Business Process Automation.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate at both executive and technical levels.
Preferred Skills
Experience in defining multi-cloud development strategies within large, global enterprises.
Ability to balance innovation, governance, and business value in strategic planning.
Strong leadership and mentorship skills to guide architecture and development teams.
