Job Summary:
As a Workday Data & Integration Specialist, you will serve as the senior technical authority for
Workday integrations, advanced reporting, and analytics. This role is responsible for designing,
developing, and optimizing a scalable, secure data ecosystem that supports enterprise HCM,
Payroll, and Financials requirements.
You will partner closely with functional leaders and executive stakeholders to translate business
strategy into effective technical solutions. In this role, you will be expected to author detailed
technical specifications, evaluate existing custom processes in legacy system, and proactively
rework or challenge them to improve efficiency, scalability, and alignment with best practices
while moving those processes to Workday.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workday Integrations & APIs
Design and develop complex Workday inbound and outbound integrations across
HCM, Payroll, and Financials
Strong hands-on experience with Workday Studio, including:
o API orchestration, transformation, sequencing, and error handling
o Inbound integrations consuming data from external systems
o Outbound integrations delivering data to downstream systems
o Implement data validation, reconciliation, and error reporting mechanisms
Expose and consume Workday REST APIs for upstream and downstream systems
Develop integrations using:
o Studio-based integrations using Workday REST and SOAP Web Services
o RAAS-based integrations using Document Transformation
Experience working with Workday Cloud Connect, including extending core connectors
using calculated fields and Studio
2. Reporting & Analytics
Design and Develop scalable reporting using Calculated Fields in Advanced, Composite,
and Matrix Reports
Designs and builds custom business-form layouts using BIRT for high-impact outputs
such as offer letters, invoices, and payslips
Design and Develop advanced reporting solutions using Prism Analytics, Discovery
Boards, and Matrix Reporting
3. Custom Objects & Data Integration
Design and work with Workday Custom Objects
Build Studio-based integrations to:
o Load data from external systems into Custom Objects
o Handle insert, update, and delete operations
Extract Custom Object data for outbound integrations
4. Business Process & Functional Support
Design and build Business Process (BP) definitions
Manage effective-dated BP changes
Coordinate BP regression testing during Workday releases
Hands-on experience with:
o Time Tracking
o Absence Management
5. Security & Integration Governance
Strong understanding of the Workday security model
Configure and manage:
o Integration System Users (ISU)
o Integration Security Groups (ISSG)
Manage domain and Business Process (BP) security for integrations
Ensure secure authentication (OAuth, certificates) and audit compliance
6. Release & Production Support
Troubleshoot integration and reporting issues across environments
Support Workday release updates, including impact analysis and testing
Ensure smooth adoption of new features and enhancements
Provide ongoing production and AMS support
Experience &
Qualification:
7–10 years with strong hands-on Workday Integration experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Technical Skills
Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, DIS, DT, RAAS
Workday REST API & SOAP Web Services
XSLT, XML, JSON
Integration security and API authentication
Workday Advanced, Composite and Matrix Reports and Calculated Fields
Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
