Position Requirements / Scope
We are looking for a  Senior Data Operations Consultant (SME)  to join our Lifecycle Marketing team. In this role, you will serve as the go-to authority for end-to-end campaign execution, owning the operational standards, tooling practices, and quality frameworks that power our customer communications. You bring strong data fluency including hands-on SQL expertise that allows you to move fluidly between campaign platforms and the underlying data that drives them.

You will work at the intersection of marketing strategy, data engineering, and technology, translating business goals into scalable, high-performing campaigns across channels.

Campaign Execution & Orchestration
Own the build, QA, and deployment of complex multi-channel campaigns using  Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) , including real-time and batch journeys across email, push, SMS, and in-app.
Design and manage audience segmentation and activation workflows in  Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) , leveraging the Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RT-CDP) for precise, data-driven targeting.
Write and validate SQL queries to verify audience counts, segment logic accuracy, and campaign eligibility criteria before deployment serving as the last line of defense for data quality.
Partner with Marketing, Product, and Data teams to translate campaign briefs into technically sound execution plans.
Monitor journey performance, proactively identify failures or data anomalies using SQL-based investigation, and own resolution end-to-end.
Data Validation & SQL Proficiency
Use SQL extensively to query Big Query, Snowflake, or equivalent data warehouses to validate audience composition, confirm segment membership, and troubleshoot data pipeline inconsistencies.
Build and maintain reusable SQL scripts for recurring QA checks including suppression validation, deduplication, frequency cap verification, and eligibility logic audits.
Partner with Data Engineering to review upstream table logic, flag data quality issues affecting campaign audiences, and co-own resolution.
Translate complex marketing segmentation logic (behavioral signals, lifecycle stages, product usage patterns) into efficient, accurate SQL queries for exploratory analysis and audience sizing.
Platform Expertise & Governance
Serve as the internal SME for AJO and AEP providing guidance on platform capabilities, limitations, best practices, and roadmap updates.
Establish and enforce campaign operations standards: naming conventions, folder structures, suppression logic, frequency capping, consent and compliance controls.
Lead intake, scoping, and feasibility reviews for new campaign requests, advising stakeholders on the best technical and data approach.
Manage and maintain AEP datasets, schemas, and segment definitions, using SQL to validate ingestion completeness and profile attribute accuracy.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Act as the primary liaison between Marketing, Marketing Technology, and Data Engineering, on campaign operations topics.
Support data integration efforts by partnering with data engineers on AEP ingestion pipelines, identity resolution, and profile unification.
Must Have
78 years of experience in campaign operations, marketing technology, or a closely related field.
Hands-on SQL proficiency is required  you regularly write queries for audience validation, data QA, exploratory analysis, and post-campaign reporting.
Deep expertise with  Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO)  journey canvas, message authoring, decision management, and reporting.
Strong working knowledge of  Adobe Experience Platform (AEP)  segment builder, data ingestion, XDM schema management, and identity stitching.
Experience querying data warehouses such as  Big Query, Snowflake, or Databricks  in a marketing or analytics context.
Comfort working with large datasets and translating marketing logic (e.g., 'users who transacted in the last 30 days but haven't opened an email') into accurate, performant SQL.
Solid understanding of digital marketing channels: email, push, SMS, and in-app messaging.
Excellent communication skills able to explain both campaign logic and data findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

Experience with AEP data ops monitoring, ADLS ingestion pipelines, and AJO journey performance auditing.
Good to have Braze and SFMC experience.
Good to have AEP certification
Familiarity with dbt, Looker, or similar tools for data modeling and reporting.
Exposure to additional Adobe Experience Cloud tools (Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Workfront).
Experience working in agile/scrum environments.
Familiarity with Python for data manipulation (pandas, etc.) as a complement to SQL.
