This role is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of all stages in the Data & Analytics (D&A) solution development life cycle. It involves collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to build cutting-edge D&A solutions and managing a team of professionals in delivering high-quality analytical systems. The role requires strong technical expertise across multiple layers of the data solution stack and proven leadership in guiding teams through design and development phases.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Work with business stakeholders to identify business problems, opportunities, and initiatives where analytics can provide valuable insights.
Conceptualize, design, and develop data management solutions using industry-standard data engineering techniques.
Translate data into actionable insights with scenario analysis, business impact assessments, and execution plans.
Conduct data analysis and design moderately complex analytic algorithms.
Model and frame business scenarios that drive improvement in critical business processes and decisions.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to select relevant data sources and translate requirements into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Execute data profiling and implement data quality improvement procedures.
Develop specifications for custom reports, incorporating unique business rules and data elements.
Identify and solve complex technical challenges within data management platforms.
Analyze data platforms to identify areas for optimization and propose innovative technical solutions.
Lead the design and implementation of data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics solutions using modern cloud and on-prem technologies.
People Management
Provide leadership, direction, and support to team members to help them achieve organizational and individual goals.
Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
Identify training needs and create employee development plans to promote continuous learning.
Address and resolve conflicts within the team, maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of new team members.
Promote employee engagement through team-building activities and recognition programs.
Lead diverse teams effectively by influencing through knowledge and expertise.
Maintain transparent communication with the team regarding goals, policies, and organizational updates.
Allocate resources effectively, ensuring team members have the necessary tools and support.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Develop performance improvement plans for underperforming employees with coaching and mentoring support.
Oversee cross-functional software development projects and ensure successful project delivery through strong project management practices.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Certifications
Data Analytics or Data Management/Engineering certifications (MS Azure, Databricks, etc.)
BI tool certifications (Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau)
Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen certification
ITIL or ITSM certification
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Work Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in Data & Analytics solution development, with at least 2 years in a people management role.
Hands-on experience in healthcare data analytics or data engineering/data management using cloud/on-prem technologies (MS Azure, Databricks, Synapse, ADF, Logic Apps, MS SQL, SSIS, SSRS).
Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing large teams.
