Role Purpose

Operate and monitor a CNC double column (gantry-type) machining center safely, accurately, and efficiently in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC double column machining center

• Load, clamp, and align large/heavy work pieces

• Monitor machining operations and tool condition

• Perform basic offsets, tool changes, and corrections

• Conduct in-process inspection to ensure dimensional accuracy

• Follow safety procedures for heavy machining operations

• Report machine, tooling, or quality issues immediately

• Support maintenance during planned shutdowns

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience operating large CNC machines (double column / gantry / bridge type preferred)

• Strong understanding of:

o Workpiece alignment and clamping

o Cutting tools and tool wear

o Feeds, speeds, and basic machining principles

• Ability to read technical drawings and tolerances

• Experience with CNC controllers

• Safety-conscious mindset (this machine does not forgive mistakes)

Strong Advantages

• Experience machining large steel structures or heavy parts

• Basic CNC program editing (at operator level)

• Experience with precision measurement tools

• Familiarity with machine warm-up and accuracy checks
