Plant Head

Job Purpose
Lead and manage all manufacturing operations of the plant to ensure safe, efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of drip irrigation systems, sprinkler systems, pipes, fittings, valves, and allied products. Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
Production Management
> Plan and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
> Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
> Monitor production efficiency, OEE, capacity utilization, and productivity.
> Minimize downtime through effective maintenance planning.
-Must be conversant with Labour Law and have experience in handling Labour Unions.

Quality Management
> Ensure products meet company and regulatory quality standards.
> Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
> Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.

Operations Excellence
> Implement Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives.
> Improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
> Optimize inventory and material flow.

Maintenance
> Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of all plant equipment.
> Improve equipment reliability and machine availability.

Supply Chain Coordination
> Coordinate with Procurement, Planning, Sales, and Logistics.
> Ensure timely availability of raw materials and on-time dispatch of finished goods.

> Safety & Compliance
> Maintain compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
> Promote a zero-accident culture through regular audits and training.

People Management
> Lead and develop production, quality, maintenance, stores, and engineering teams.
> Build a high-performance culture through coaching, performance reviews, and succession planning.

Budget & Cost Control
> Prepare and manage plant budgets.
> Monitor manufacturing costs and drive cost-saving initiatives.
> Improve profitability through waste reduction and process optimization.

Qualifications
> B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Polymer, Plastic, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
> MBA (Operations) preferred.

Experience
> 15–20 years of manufacturing experience.
> Minimum 5 years as Plant Head or Senior Operations Leader.
> Experience in plastics extrusion, injection moulding, PVC/HDPE products, irrigation systems, or allied manufacturing is preferred.
