Training & Development Specialist – Retail Sales

Role Overview
We are looking for a Training & Development Specialist with strong exposure to Retail Sales Training. The role focuses on building high impact training programs, improving sales performance, and developing leadership capabilities across retail teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with multiple brands and scaling training impact at an organizational level.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver sales-focused training programs for retail teams, covering sales tactics, customer handling, objection management, and closing techniques.
• Create and manage Training & Development frameworks, onboarding modules, refresher programs, and performance-driven learning journeys.
• Implement structured training needs analysis (TNA) and align training interventions with business and sales goals.
• Develop training SOPs, playbooks, product pitch decks, and role-play modules for retail teams.
• Work closely with Sales Leadership to identify skill gaps and support performance improvement initiatives.
• Track training effectiveness using assessments, feedback, on-ground observations, and performance metrics.
• Travel across locations to conduct on-ground retail training, audits, and coaching sessions.
• Act as a people leader and mentor, demonstrating strong leadership and influencing skills within teams.
Required
Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum 4–5 years of experience in Training & Development, preferably in Retail Sales / Consumer Brands / D2C / FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of sales tactics, retail selling techniques, and customer engagement strategies.
• Formal courses or certification in Training & Development / L&D is mandatory.
• Proven experience in Retail Training & Development environments.
• Experience working with 2–3 brands, or significant scale-up experience with one large brand over the last 3–5 years.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively for training delivery and audits.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, ownership mindset, and ability to influence stakeholders.
