Logistics Analyst – U.S. Transportation (India-Based)

Position Overview

Sonny’s is seeking a Logistics Analyst based in India to support U.S. transportation operations. Acting as an extension of the U.S. logistics team, this role works closely with U.S. shipping locations, carriers, vendors, and internal teams. Responsibilities include shipment execution, freight audit, routing optimization, and logistics reporting across parcel, LTL, truckload, air, and ocean shipments.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, understands U.S. domestic geography and shipping networks, and can identify opportunities to consolidate LTL shipments and reduce transportation costs.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation Execution

- Manage shipment data in the TMS and track shipments across all modes.
- Coordinate with U.S. locations, carriers, and vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve delays, exceptions, and expedite urgent shipments.

Freight Audit & Cost Control

- Audit invoices for linehaul, fuel, accessorial, and parcel charges.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and support cost management with finance.

Transportation Optimization

- Analyze shipping patterns to consolidate LTL into truckload moves.
- Recommend routing decisions based on cost, transit time, and carrier performance.
- Support load building, milk runs, and multi-stop shipments in TMS.

Vendor & Carrier Management

- Monitor carrier performance and compliance.
- Assist with vendor onboarding and routing guide adherence.
- Conduct routing guide audits.

Data Analysis & Reporting

- Prepare reports on on-time performance, freight spend, carrier compliance, and cost savings.
- Support QBRs and operational reporting for leadership.

Import & Export Support

- Assist with international shipments, import/export coordination, and customs compliance.

Process Improvement

- Maintain logistics SOPs and routing documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or 3–5 years’ relevant experience.

- Experience with TMS, freight auditing, and Excel/data analysis.
- Very strong communication skills and ability to work independently with U.S.

-based teams.

Preferred Experience

- Knowledge of U.S. domestic transportation, LTL/TL decisions, and carrier pricing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau).
- Import/export logistics experience.

Additional Expectations

- Comfortable supporting U.S. business hours and understanding U.S. shipping lanes and regions.
