Overview
Assembler I is an entry-level position that performs repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs by performing the duties described below.
Responsibilities- Place parts in specified relationship to each other. Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together.
- Cut products to specific measurements as needed.
- Remove defective products as needed.
- Tend machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line.
- Work at different workstations as production needs require.
- Operate in an environment where tasks change as varying models of product are produced.
- Clean equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- No formal education or experience requirements; prior carpentry experience is helpful.
- Competencies:
ability to read and comprehend simple instructions; ability to write simple correspondence; verbal communication skills; basic arithmetic; ability to read a tape measure; ability to understand and follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions; ability to work with a few concrete variables in standardized situations. - Overtime work may be involved.

The employee is continuously required to walk and may occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing duties, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme temperatures, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud.
Personal protective equipment such as ear plugs and eye protection may be required by the location.
