Job Description A Splicer plays a critical role responsible for splicing, installing, maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting and testing to ensure high-quality standards for network performance and reliability. This position requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform splicing tasks in various outdoor settings, including aerial, underground, and building entries.
• Read, interpret, and update network maps, splice schematics, and engineering field notes.
• Use equipment, including fusion splicers, OTDRs (Optical Time Domain Reflectometers), power meters, and light sources to ensure optimal network performance.
• Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of links to identify and resolve issues such as breaks, bends, or bad splices.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations during all operations.
• Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
• Provide accurate and detailed documentation of completed work, including splicing and testing results.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs and maintenance outside of normal working hours.
• Stay updated on the latest technology and splicing techniques through continuous learning and professional development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical school coursework in telecommunications, electronics, or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in splicing, telecommunications, or a similar field is highly desirable but not required.
• Basic understanding of telecommunications networks
