Operates, services, and repairs the varied components of the irrigation system.

• Perform preventative maintenance on the irrigation system including the lake re‑circulation system and water features.
• Determine wet and dry areas for adjustments of sprinkler heads.
• Properly inventory and stock all irrigation parts and tools in order to minimize downtime.
• Maintain working knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements.
• Operate, maintain and repair a complex irrigation system, including leaks on the distribution lines, valve risers, electrical system, computer and irrigation control wire.
• Report any serious irrigation breaks immediately to the Head Irrigation Technician or Superintendent and maintain a daily log of completed repairs.
• Prioritize irrigation breaks and use time efficiently.
• Conduct monthly checks of all sprinkler heads on the entire golf facility.
• Routinely inspect irrigation system components to ensure system is operating properly.
• Be responsible for winterization and blowout of irrigation system, including all water lines, valves and pump stations.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as required.

Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.

Regularly stand and walk; occasionally sit, climb or balance, taste or smell; regularly use hands; reach with hands or arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.

Regularly work in wet or humid conditions (non‑weather) and face risk of electrical shock. Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. Frequently work in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally work in extreme cold or heat (non‑weather).

• Valid Driver’s License

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
