Geotechnical Design Build Intern

ICOP is looking for students pursuing a degree in civil or geotechnical engineering who are interested in an internship for the summer of 2026! Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter who is ready to put what they are learning in school to real world practice. Come work with a team of great engineers!

During the summer, you will have an opportunity to learn about the following:

• Design and construction of:
  • Aggregate Piers
  • Rigid Inclusions
  • Ductile Iron Pipe Piles
  • Micro Piles
  • Support of Excavation (SOE) systems
• Design-Build project lifecycle including:
  • Project lead generation
  • Bid/proposal development
  • Development of design calculation packages and construction drawings
  • Project management through execution of construction
• Development of soft skills including industry networking, communication practices

• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
• Perform field tasks including assisting quality control professionals and coordinating with ICOP project managers
• Prepare engineering related calculations,develop drawings and visual aids
• Review geotechnical design and analyses under the supervision of a Professional Engineer

• Student currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering program.
• Completion of introduction to geotechnical engineering courses.
• Transportation to and from work each day required.
• Preference given to previous and applicable work experience.
