Business Analyst/Product Owner

Purcellville, VA (LOCALS Only)

Duration; 6 Moths

Serves as primary expert on core software products used to solve complex business problems. Works closely with business users to gather requirements and ensure software meets business needs. Coordinates Operations to ensure plans and changes are communicated.

• Serve as the Product Owner in the Scrum development process.
• Understand project scope, business goals, product functionality and desired features.
• Elicit, analyze and document business requirements in coordination with end users and management.
• Analyze high level requirements and translate them into more detailed user stories and other functional requirements documents such as process flows.
• Communicate with developers to clarify requirements for development and assist in evaluating alternatives to determine appropriate solutions.
• Identify and assist in resolving issues, questions and requirements gaps quickly and effectively.
• Participate in change request process and elevate changes for approval.
• Collaborate with product customer to prioritize development of features and prepare the backlog for sprint planning.
• Test new functionality to ensure product meets business needs prior to releasing.
• Assist liaisons in development of tests and ongoing testing activities.

Preferred: 2+ years of experience as an IT business analyst. One or more years of experience working with a Scrum software development team. Experience using Jira.

Minimum: 1 year of experience as an IT business analyst. Experience in agile development processes.
