Overview

The main responsibility of the position is to serve as a managing editor or co-managing editor of Inkwell, the MFA Program’s literary magazine. This role involves managing all aspects of the magazine including, but not limited to the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Managing submissions
  • Soliciting submissions from established writers
  • Making editorial decisions
  • Interacting with accepted authors
  • Collating the issue for copy-editing
  • Copy-editing the issue
  • Assisting in the design of the issue
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in the MFA Creative Writing graduate program at Manhattanville
  • Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
  • Previous experience working on a literary publication is preferred but not required
Compensation

This position offers a 3-credit tuition waiver to be used for classes in the MFA in Creative Writing Program for the fall and spring semesters (total of 6 credits).

Hours & Housing

Hours Expectation: Part-time, 29 hours or less per week

Housing: Housing is not provided.

Benefits

Benefits: Graduate Assistants are not eligible for benefits.
