Overview

This role is based in Purchase, NY or Washington, D.C. and will report to the Senior Director of Global Public Policy Analytics and Insights. The Global Public Policy team informs Pepsi Co’s public policy agenda and drives the development of strong policy positions that address key issues facing the business. By combining expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and qualitative research, we develop proactive strategies around policy risks and opportunities.

This position is responsible for supporting government affairs colleagues around the world, primarily by blending quantitative and qualitative analysis. The role will support Public Health and Environmental policy, but also emerging policy topics such as Agriculture and Human Rights. The role will also focus on strengthening our analytical capabilities and relationships outside of the U.S.

Responsibilities
  • Quantitative and qualitative research to assess policy risks and opportunities, as well as to develop policy positions
  • Serving as a point of contact for cross-functional partners on policy risks and opportunities
  • Building connections to ex-U.S. market teams to build our data and analytics capabilities internationally
  • Meeting external stakeholders to support advocacy agenda
  • Assisting in development of policy messages and advocacy strategies
  • Drafting reports and presentations for senior leadership
  • Managing large projects with cross-functional and external stakeholders across multiple work streams
  • Managing events, representing the company at conferences, and other ad-hoc work as needed
Compensation and Benefits
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant role, ideally with some prior experience in management consulting or public affairs.
  • An advanced degree in either public policy or a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics) or both
  • Solid understanding of the global political and geopolitical landscape, and a genuine passion for public policy
  • Prior experience with financial modeling, data analysis, and qualitative research—whether in consulting, in-house, or in the public sector
  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
  • Ability to represent Pepsi Co with confidence and tact, and engage with key stakeholders at the highest levels of governments, business, and civil society
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively
  • Intellectual curiosity to conduct deep dives and develop expertise on new topics
  • Strong attention to detail, and able to balance multiple deadlines and tasks while delivering high quality work
  • Able to develop roadmaps, strategies, and solutions in ambiguous situations
  • Flexibility and willingness to wear many hats and work across teams to get work done
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across the business and exert influence where there is no formal authority
  • International and multi-cultural exposure to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders around the world
