Staff Nurse (LPN) Full Time & Part Time

The Staff Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation, and emergency calls as indicated.

• Administers medications per physicians’ orders.
• Complete vitals including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
• Administers treatments, including, but not limited to: simple dressings, catheterization, suctioning, oxygen, etc.
• Call physicians to facilitate medication orders, supplies, etc.
• Order all medication and process new physician orders.
• Assists in direct resident care as necessary.
• Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.
• Ensure narcotic counts are accurate at the beginning and end of shift.
• Receive and give end of shift report to oncoming shift.
• Provide report to Quality-of-Life Specialist.
• Call resident emergency contact person when necessary.

• Assists in admission and discharge procedures.
• Responds to resident emergency call system as indicated.
• Makes rounds with physicians and transcribes orders, as needed.
• Keeps physician and family aware of change in resident’s condition.
• Maintains the self‑respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each patient.
• Assures continuity of services and care.
• Attends in‑service training and education sessions, as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by Nursing Supervisor and/or Health Services Director.

• Current NYS RN or LPN License.
• CPR Certification.
• At least two (2) years nursing experience. Geriatric involvement preferable.

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; must be able to stand/walk for up to 70% of the workday; must be able to lift, transfer, turn and position residents weighing up to 125 lbs unassisted, or with the assistance of one for a resident weighing over 125 lbs. May be subjected to offensive odors and combative behavior. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally. May be exposed to communicable diseases including the HIV and HBV viruses. Must be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptions.

The salary range for this opportunity is $32.00-$38.00.
