POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation, and emergency calls as indicated.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Essential

Job Duties:

Administers medications per physicians’ orders.

Complete vitals including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure

Administers treatments, including, but not limited to: simple dressings, catheterization, suctioning, oxygen, etc.

Call physicians to facilitate medication orders, supplies, etc

Order all medication and process new physician orders

Assists in direct resident care as necessary.

Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.

Ensure narcotic counts are accurate at the beginning and end of shift.

Receive and give end of shift report to oncoming shift.

Provide report to Quality-of-Life Specialist

Call residents emergency contact person when necessary.

Other Duties:

Assists in admission and discharge procedures.

Responds to resident emergency call system as indicated.

Makes rounds with physicians and transcribes orders, as needed.

Keeps physician and family aware of change in resident’s condition.

Maintains the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each patient.

Assures continuity of services and care.

Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.

Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

Other duties as assigned by Nursing Supervisor and/or Health Services Director

The salary range for this opportunity is $32.00-$38.00.
