Facilities Mechanic General Summary

The Facilities Mechanic will be hands‑on with day‑to‑day maintenance, repairs, overhauls and will need comprehensive mechanical aptitude. This role will regularly assist the facilities team in other capacities (carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and general building maintenance).
Salary Range$24.00 – $26.00 per hour
Experience & Education Requirements- Minimum 5 years experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, and general building maintenance
- High school diploma or GED
- Current, clear, valid driver’s license
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, repairing doors/locks, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliances, etc.
- Maintain a clean and neat work environment, including cleaning mechanical rooms
- Diagnose and properly repair systems
- Possess advanced skill in at least two trades (electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
- Be available for occasional on‑call duty as necessary
- Work occasional early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Communicate urgently with supervisor regarding operational deficiencies or system malfunctions
- Perform any duties assigned in emergencies as determined by management
- Operate all hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and properly
- Maintain current knowledge in facilities maintenance and willingness to continue learning through mentoring or training
- Assist with preventative maintenance for all systems and equipment
- Collaborate with coworkers, trades, and contractors on maintenance tasks
- Monitor and stock inventory supplies
- Lifts and carries up to 50lbs with occasional assistance
- Pushes and pulls up to 50lbs with occasional assistance
- Climbs, reaches, bends, and twists occasionally
