FRC Per-Diem Child Care Assistant

Overview

Position: FRC Per-Diem Child Care Assistant, Putnam Public Schools

A per-diem child care assistant with the Putnam Family Resource Center will assist in providing care and educational support for preschool and school-age children. Working under the supervision of the center's director, the per-diem child care assistant will help implement age-appropriate activities, assist with classroom management, and support children’s social and emotional development. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic and compassionate, with strong communication skills, a passion for working with young children, and a desire to contribute to a supportive and inclusive educational setting.

• Aiding in the preparation and delivery of engaging learning experiences
• Assisting with daily routines
• Providing one-on-one support to children as needed
• Maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
• Assist with classroom management and support children’s social and emotional development

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Para Pro Test or equivalent of 2 year’s college credits - 60 credits (preferred)
• Experience working with young children preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Physically able to engage in activities with children, including sitting on the floor, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 30 pounds

Rate of pay: $18.20 per hour
