• As the Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), diagnose responses to actual or potential health problems and provide basic emergent, supportive, and restorative care through the nursing process. Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned responsibility.
• According to age and developmental level of the patient, assess the patient’s physical, psycho-social, emotional, cultural, spiritual and discharge needs.
• Utilize effective oral and written communication skills, including completeness and accuracy of documentation.
• Demonstrate accurate technical skill and operational knowledge of patient care equipment and procedures.
• Evaluate the plan of care and reformulate goals as necessary.
• Develop and implement a plan of care for each patient.
• Recognize unsafe and life-threatening situations and intervene appropriately.
