Hourly Range: $22.34 - $24.28
Position Summary:
Full-time Dental Assistant position available for our Puyallup Dental Clinic. Candidate will assist the dental provider in the delivery of dental procedures allowed by the WA State Dental Practice Act. Other responsibilities include assisting the provider in Restorative, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery procedures, and any other procedures allowed by the WA Dental Practice Act.
Major duties for Dental Assistants include maintaining proper records for material safety data sheets (MSDS), spore testing, inventory of dental supplies. In addition, the role includes assisting in training new Dental Assistants and organizing schedules to generate checklists for maintenance of dental procedures.
Qualifications and/or Experience- Applicant must have a valid WA State license, basic life support (BLS) certification, organizational skills, dental record experience and familiarity with the use of computers.
- Excellent customer service skills required. Must be able to communicate, read and write in English and have the ability to interpret common written material about dentistry.
- Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Preferred previous ortho experience.
As a Dental Assistant II
, applicants must have completed a formal Dental Assistant program at a College, Technical Institute or equivalent. A minimum of 6 months of work experience is required. Employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 18 months of work experience in a Dental Assistant position.
As a Dental Assistant III
, applicants must be knowledgeable of proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations including QA/QI. Able to duplicate and mount radiographs, place temporary restorations, take impressions, pour and trim models, place retraction cord, place matrix bands, perform coronal polish and give fluoride treatments. Applicants must have 2 years of working experience. Employees with no formal training must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Dental Assistant position.
