Sy Substitute Paraeducator

Puyallup School District is seeking qualified applicants with skills, abilities, and willingness to provide instructional assistance (often working with orthopedically impaired children) or building duty assistance for absent para educators throughout the school district.

Position Hours/Days: At-Will/On-call, based on the 2025-26 SY Calendar

Position Rate of Pay: $25.80/hr.

Essential Functions

Required Qualifications:

• 18 years of age or older
• High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED) - Documentation MUST be uploaded
• Ability and desire to work on a constant basis – minimum 2 times a month

Note: Candidates who meet the Washington State Para educator Requirements
, may also be eligible for temporary para educator positions and permanent para educator positions. Candidates who have the following will be requested to upload the documentation to their application.

• Qualifying (ETS) para educator assessment scores
• 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university
• Associates degree or higher from an accredited college or University

Clearances:

• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
