The Role
A Member Specialist (focus on lending) at Kitsap Credit Union will create an exceptional member experience while processing transactions, offering and demonstrating all‑digital, remote and self‑service options. This role is available across the Kitsap area at our branches, including the Puyallup Meridian branch. The Member Specialist is responsible for lending activities, building member relationships, and contributing to branch and credit union goals.
Responsibilities- Assist members with their financial needs and transactions, identify, develop, and refer business relationships to build market position.
- Educate and introduce current and new members to new products and services and assist in self‑service options.
- Foster and maintain constructive member relationships.
- Review and maintain knowledge of products, including current and new offerings.
- Use effective sales techniques that result in a positive member experience and exceed sales goals.
- Maintain knowledge and adhere to operational, regulatory, security, and compliance standards.
- Accept and process all financial transactions accurately, following proper balancing procedures.
- Promote and effectively demonstrate digital, remote and self‑serve options, with continual education as new products and digital services are introduced.
- Participate in sales and community events to support branch and credit union objectives.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of experience in a financial institution with new accounts and consumer lending (HE/HELOC preferred).
- One year of cash handling, customer service, and/or retail sales experience.
- Ability to identify and contribute new ideas to improve processes and procedures.
- Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 30 days of hire and comply with SAFE Act regulations.
- Meet or exceed referral and sales goals.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to junior team members.
- Assist members and non‑members in opening share accounts, new accounts, and basic lending.
Member Specialist (focus on lending) – $26 - $32 per hour, depending on experience.
