- 10‑hour shifts Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM | No weekends or holidays

The Role
As a Registered Cardiac Sonographer, you will assess cardiac function and support diagnosis through high‑quality cardiovascular ultrasound imaging. You will perform echocardiograms, ensure optimal image capture, prepare reports, and maintain equipment in accordance with accreditation standards. Your role combines technical excellence with compassionate patient interaction.
Your Day‑to‑Day ResponsibilitiesCardiac Imaging & Patient Care
- Perform diagnostic echocardiograms using established protocols and adapt techniques to patient needs.
- Prepare patients by explaining procedures, obtaining history, and ensuring comfort and safety.
- Document procedures and confirm accurate patient data in the EMR.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Sanitize transducers, exam beds, and cables daily.
- Conduct weekly and monthly system backups, purges, and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate repairs with service technicians and verify functionality.
Administrative & Quality Support
- Log completed exams, record diagnostic codes, and maintain organized patient records.
- Retrieve and prepare studies for physician review.
- Assist in training new sonographers, students, and clinical staff.
Professional Development & Collaboration
- Maintain required certifications and participate in continuing education.
- Support lab accreditation and quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinic staff to optimize workflow and patient outcomes.
- Graduate of a CAAHEP‑ or CMA‑approved School of Diagnostic Ultrasound (or equivalent training per ICAEL standards).
- National certification in echocardiography (ARDMS or CCI).
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Prior experience in cardiology or specialty imaging.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Location:
1901 South Cedar Street, Tacoma, WA 98405.
- Outpatient cardiology clinic setting.
- Standard office environment with moderate patient flow.
- Collaborative team of cardiologists, RNs, and allied health professionals.
4 × 10‑hour shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (days vary based on patient scheduling; schedules are released 3 months in advance).

Wage Range
: $42.50 – $66.19 per hour
