Summary Of Position

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for designing and managing Electrical Engineering projects from conception to completion. The candidate will lead a team of Project Engineers and Project Designers. The candidate will apply their experience in electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and overall MEP design. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, they will be coordinating with Site/Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers.

They will be responsible for fully planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to project parameters for deliverables, schedules, and budgets for assigned clients. They will be required to oversee the quality aspects and technical support for projects throughout various industry markets. They will provide financial analysis and financial reporting for projects and Clients.

Responsibilities
  • Be a dependent resource for Client communication and be a lead point of contact for Clients.
  • Be a local MEP leader to support growth in the region.
  • Manage multiple projects with multiple Clients simultaneously.
  • Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with Clients and Sub-consultants. Prepare scope of work language for various types of projects in multiple markets.
  • Manage A/R’s, efficiency evaluations, profit evaluations and manage the financial aspect for all projects.
  • Plan staffing and establish budget hours within project parameters for all assigned staff. Analyze cost vs planned hours for disciplines and staff. Maintain phase and task level budgets.
  • Manage staff and staffing schedules through the duration of the project.
  • Oversee project scheduling for all project related activities for all parties involved.
  • Participate in business development opportunities and provide RFP support, including market research. Including attendance at marketing functions, business dinners/events, and cross marketing with other offices.
  • Conduct site visit investigations and generate reports and recommendations based on findings
  • Review and oversee design plans, including calculations. Be a resource for design knowledge and subject matter expertise.
  • Coordinate with third party professional services, and equipment vendors/manufacturers
  • Coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs, submittal reviews, and change orders
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior design/engineering staff
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or technical degree in a comparable field
  • P.E. license preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of experience of combined electrical design and project management
