Sunrise Baptist Church is seeking a Senior Pastor who faithfully pursues God’s direction in prayer, possesses a
true shepherd’s heart, and is passionate about God, His Word, and His people.

We desire a man of integrity who maintains a growing, intimate walk with Jesus through the power of the Holy
Spirit.

He will model a lifestyle of evangelism through his daily interactions, demonstrate a strong ability in creating a
visionary plan for the future of Sunrise, while fostering discipleship, spiritual growth, and authentic community
within the church, so that our people are equipped to reach the unchurched around us.

The ideal candidate is humble, supportive, and compassionate, with a willingness for transparency, has a down-to
earth temperament, and is gifted in building authentic relationships with strong interpersonal skills.

Sunrise Baptist Church is an established congregation with a weekly attendance of approximately 85-100 people.
We are located in the South Hill community near Puyallup, Washington (about 10 miles southeast of Tacoma).

• Strength in leadership and shepherding.
• A strong commitment to the value of family and an understanding of how healthy family life strengthens
  faith.
• 5+ years of senior or lead pastoral experience.
• An ability to be relational, engaging, and connected with the church body.
• A seminary degree and/or willingness to pursue ongoing theological education.
• Strong communication and technology skills that foster meaningful connections with both the Sunrise
  Church family and the surrounding community.
• A clear desire to seek God’s will and vision for the church, coupled with the ability to communicate that
  vision and lead through change with humility, wisdom, discernment, and courage.
• The ability to effectively train and empower qualified staff and leaders.
• Comfortable with the use of technology to foster effective communication within our church community, as
  well as reaching the community outside Sunrise.
• Previous ministry experience in the Northwest, or a well-defined sense of God’s call to serve in this region.
