The Pet Smart Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) engages with pet parents and their pets, providing positive experiences while upholding our company's vision, mission, and values. Responsibilities include store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care within our store.

• Enhance pet parent experience in person, over the phone, at the register, and online
• Greet pet parents and answer questions
• Prepare online orders for in-store pickup
• Care for store-owned pets (feeding, watering, cleaning habitats)
• Maintain store cleanliness standards
• Support pricing updates and promotional displays
• Stage and sort new products
• Replenish and recover products on the sales floor
• Recommend and sell merchandise, services, and live pets
• Administer store pet medications as directed by a veterinarian
• Promote events like adoption weekends and charity events
• Ensure a safe environment for all
• Act immediately in case of sick or injured pets, including transport to vet
• Assist in various store areas as needed
• Participate in our culture of Belonging and Recognition
• Follow all company policies and procedures

• Strong communication skills
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure

• Stand, walk, climb ladders, handle objects, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and see clearly
• Lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly; team lift over 100 pounds occasionally
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts, pet hair, and moderate noise; handling live animals
