Welder

Responsibilities

• MIG & TIG welding of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium (1mm to 20mm thick) using engineering drawings.
• Jig making.
• Dressing and finishing, marking and identifying materials.
• Set up and operate various manual metal processing machines.
• Check finished products for compliance with specifications.
• Perform mid and end of process quality inspections.
• Complete required documentation (check sheets, build procedures).
• Help resolve routine questions and problems.
• Liaise with team leaders or senior fabricator/welders on complex issues.
• Adhere to and participate in all aspects of Lean processes (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
• Perform all duties safely, alerting employees to dangers.
• Use material handling equipment to move parts, materials, or components.
• Follow Safety, Health and Environment Rules and Responsibilities.
• Maintain good housekeeping in own work area and wider department.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
