Chief Accountant

We are seeking a highly motivated Chief Accountant (Payroll) to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for payroll accounting, WPS processing, month-end closing activities, intercompany accounting, and payroll-related financial reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

• Review payroll journals prepared by HR and verify payroll postings in SAP.
• Reconcile payroll expenses, provisions, and related balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and submit WPS files and process salary payments through banking portals.
• Review end-of-service (EOS) calculations and process final settlements.
• Coordinate with HR and Treasury on payroll and employee-related payments.
• Process intercompany payroll back-charges and prepare supporting calculations.
• Manage month-end closing activities, including payroll accruals, EOS provisions, reconciliations, journal entries, and closing schedules.
• Support quarterly reviews and annual external audits by providing payroll and staff cost schedules.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• 5-10 years of accounting experience, including 2-3 years in payroll accounting.
• Hands-on experience with WPS processing, payroll accounting, month-end closing, intercompany accounting, and general ledger accounting

• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics

• Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
