Payroll Manager

Snoonu is looking for a Payroll Manager to lead and scale our payroll function as the company grows.

Role will support a multi-country, multi-brand workforce spanning HQ staff, Snoomart, Grocery, Garage, Accommodation, and our large rider and driver population. You will build a stronger, more resilient payroll structure — growing and diversifying the team, strengthening controls, increasing automation and segregation of duties, and ensuring accurate, compliant payroll across every market and business line we operate in.

• Build & Lead the Payroll Team:
  Grow, structure, and manage the payroll function, addressing today's thin team coverage and reducing key-person risk by hiring and developing a more diverse, resilient team.
• Own End-to-End Payroll Governance:
  Oversee accurate, on-time payroll processing across all business units (HQ, Snoomart, Grocery, Garage, Accommodation) and worker categories (staff, full-time riders/drivers, 3PL).
• Strengthen Controls & Segregation of Duties:
  Implement proper segregation of duties, approval workflows, and review controls across payroll processing that are currently under- resourced given the team's size.
• Ensure Multi-Country Compliance:
  Ensure payroll complies with labor law, Wage Protection System (WPS), and social security requirements across Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and other relevant markets.
• Manage Leave, Settlements & Disputes:
  Oversee leave and final settlement processing, and act as the escalation point for complex payroll disputes and queries.
• Partner on Payroll Systems:
  Work with the Automation & AI Engineering team to modernize payroll workflows (e.g., Keka integration, bank file automation) as part of the wider Dynamics 365 transformation.
• Manage Cash & Distribution Oversight:
  Provide oversight of cash salary distribution and COD- related payroll adjustments for fleet and frontline teams.
• Report on Payroll Metrics:
  Deliver payroll cost, headcount, and compliance reporting to Finance leadership.
• Build Succession & Coverage:
  Establish cross-training and succession plans so payroll processing is never dependent on any single individual or nationality group.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Experience:
  
  6+ years of payroll experience, including at least 2–3 years in a payroll leadership or management role, ideally across multiple countries or business units.
• Multi-Country Payroll Knowledge:
  Strong understanding of GCC payroll and labor law requirements (Qatar, Kuwait, Oman), including WPS and end-of-service benefit calculations.
• Systems Knowledge:
  Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Keka) and ERP integration; exposure to Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• Team Building:
  Proven ability to build, diversify, and develop a team, with a deliberate focus on redundancy and succession planning.
• Controls & Governance:
  Strong understanding of payroll controls and segregation of duties.
• Communication:
  Confident communicator able to manage sensitive payroll queries and disputes professionally.
• Adaptability:
  Comfortable scaling a function to match a fast-growing, multi-brand, multi-country business.
