Role Description  The Early Childhood Educator is a full-time, on-site role based at ARROWSMITH INDEPENDENT PRESCHOOL in Qualicum Beach, BC. The educator will help plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and curricula that support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of young children. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating engaging learning environments, supervising children to ensure safety and well-being, and guiding positive behavior and social interaction.

The role involves communicating regularly with families and colleagues, documenting observations and progress, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with school policies and relevant regulations. The educator will also participate in staff meetings, contribute to program improvement, and collaborate on school events and activities. The educator should have a passion for the outdoors and nature learning.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Knowledge of early childhood development and experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting.
Creativity skills for designing engaging, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning experiences.
Organization skills for planning lessons, managing classroom routines, and maintaining documentation and records.
Relevant early childhood education certification or diploma (or equivalent) and eligibility to meet provincial licensing requirements.
Understanding of child safety, health, and wellbeing practices, including adherence to school and regulatory guidelines.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.
Previous experience in independent or community-based schools is an asset; current first aid/CPR certification is beneficial.
