Position: Oceanside Community Registered Midwife Role
Become a pivotal part of Island Health's midwifery team as a full-time Registered Midwife in the beautiful Oceanside region. Provide antenatal, postpartum, and home birth care tailored to local families.

This role supports the vibrant communities of Parksville, Qualicum Beach, and beyond, at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). Engage with a dedicated team of 14 midwives attending to nearly 35% of the 1,200 annual births. Candidates must possess full licensure from the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives and have appropriate training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide holistic midwifery care from pregnancy through postpartum

• Support families with home birth services

• Ensure collaboration with obstetricians and pediatricians

• Attend births at NRGH, ensuring seamless care

• Offer educational support and resources to families

Requirements:

• Eligible for full licensure with BCCNM

• Relevant midwifery education and training experience

• Completion of San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety training

• Ability to operate in both community and hospital environments

• Excellent teamwork skills with healthcare professionals
